Cars (update)
Monday, May 28th, 2007After yesterdays ‘will they wont they’ give us the shaft and demand more money on the second day, today went without a major hitch and we got our Lexus ES300. The only real problem was my credit card company who initially blocked my attempts to make the down payment via my card. A quick call to England and a barely understandable conversation with a young chap called Michael soon removed the “Falcon” fraud checking from my account for 15mins.
I hadn’t realised how much damned paperwork the purchasing of a car involved. I guess never having bought one before thats understandable. More so given that I cannot actually drive the thing.
Which makes all the power windows, power sunroof, power locks, power mirrors, leather seats, wood trim, multi CD changer, dual zone cliamte control, ABS, traction blah blah blah semi redundant as I will be a passenger for some time yet. Oh well, Wendi seems pretty happy to be a chauffeur a while longer.

I may well end up learning to drive in our old banged up Ford Saturn as I am pretty terrified of being let loose on the streets with such a car. Memories of the Father Ted episode with the raffled car spring to mind…
